The Valley Gardeners 2026 Programme of Events

January 13th:     Itchen Abbas Hall 2.30pm
                    Gertrude Jekyll’s Munstead Wood.
                    A talk given by Ian Molesworth, Site Manager, National Trust.


February 10th:    Hall 2.30pm
                    A Plant a Month. A talk given by Claire Mitchell.

March 10th:       Hall 2.30pm
                    The history of the NGS and Hampshire gardens to visit, a
                    talk given by Mark Porter.

April 14th:        Coach
                    A visit to Exbury gardens and refreshments at
                    Fairweather’s garden centre, Beaulieu.

May 15th:         Self drive
                    A half-day visit to The Holt garden, in Upham, with
                    afternoon tea. Please note this is a Friday.

June 9th:         Coach
                    Visits to the Old Rectory, East Woodhay and Hazelby
                    House gardens.

June 24th-26th:
                   The Valley Gardeners’ holiday to the gardens of East
                   Sussex.

July 16th:       Coach
                  A visit to Woolbeding House, near Midhurst. Picnic lunch.
                  Please note this is a Thursday.

July 21st:       Hall 6.00pm               
                  A talk given by Nick Bailey from BBC Gardeners’
                  World. This evening meeting will include wine and
                  refreshments.

August 13th:    Coach
                 A visit to Lordington Park gardens, lunch at Ashling Park
                 and then Tuppenny Barn. Please note this is a Thursday.

September 16th: Coach
                   Visits to Nymans gardens and Parham House gardens.
                   Picnic lunch. Please note this is a Wednesday.

October 13th:   Coach
                  A visit to Englefield Estate and Greys Court gardens.

November 17th:  Hall 2.30pm
                   The AGM, followed by Westcroft and its snowdrops, a
                   talk given by Lyn Miles.


All timings, members and guest fees will be stated in the
Notice sent prior to each visit/talk. Members’ guests are
always welcome.
