The Valley Gardeners 2022 Programme of Events

8th January:    The Annual Luncheon. Itchen Abbas Hall at 12.30 pm
                   (Please note, this is a Saturday)  Sorry, cancelled due to                            Covid.
11th January:    A Zoom talk, details to be confirmed.           
8th February:    A talk given by Naomi Slade. "A plant lover's guide to
                   snowdrops" Hall 2.30pm

1st March:       
A visit to Kew Gardens Orchid Festival. By coach
8th March:       
A talk given by Doug Stewart: "Seed sowing and greenhouse
                    techniques".by Zoom. 2.30pm

12th April:       A visit to the gardens at Wakehurst and the Millenium Seed 
                   bank.  By coach

10th May:        A whole day's visit to R.H.S. Wisley. By coach
1st June:         A Summer luncheon party to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
                   Itchen Abbas & Avington Village Hall at 12.30 pm.

14th June:       A visit to the gardens of Losley Park. By coach
27-30 June:      Holiday: A tour to see the glorious gardens of 
                    Norfolk. Accommodation in The Maid's Head hotel, Norwich.

12th July:        Visits to Barrington Court and East Lambrook Manor gardens,
                    By coach
19th July:         An evening visit to Stem and Green, the cutting garden owned
​                    by James Grieg in Easton. Self drive/walk.

9th August:       Visit to Bumpers garden,lunch and then Weirs
                    Barn.  Self drive.

13th September:  Talk given by Diane Clement: Growing Alpines in the garden.
                     Hall. 2.30 pm.
11th October:     A talk given by Rosemary Legrand.  "My Japanese journey"                         Hall. 2.30pm

15th November:   A.G.M. followed by talk given by Andy McIndoe. The Winter
                     garden. Hall
 2.30 pm. 

The committee hopes to be able to deliver the above programme as printed. However, with changing circumstances, we ask for your forbearance should we need to change, cancel or postpone any of the events. Details of all meetings/visits will be sent out to members by email prior to each event. Guests are always welcome at our meetings at a charge of £10 to attend a hall talk. For guests on garden visits, we make a surcharge of £10 on top of the costs of the day.
