The Valley Gardeners 2021 Programme of Events

12th January:   A talk by David Hurrion: "Gardening for a changing climate" By                      Zoom at 2.30 pm.
9th February:    A talk given by Catherine Horwood. "Beth Chatto, a life with
                   plants".   Hall or by Zoom. 2.30pm

9th March:       A talk given by Adam Pasco: "Spring into action and get ready
                   for Summer"   Hall or by Zoom. 2.30 pm.
16th March:     A visit to Kew Gardens Orchid Festival. By coach or car.

13th April:       A talk given by Professor Dave Goulson: "The garden jungle".
                   Hall or by Zoom. 2.30pm

11th May:       A talk given by Matthew Biggs. "Ideas from the back gardens                       of Britain".  Hall 2.30pm.
26th May:        An alfresco luncheon party in Easton

8-10 June:       A 3 day, 2 night holiday to the gardens of Monmouthshire and
                   South Wales.

14th June:       A visit to the gardens of Tylney Hall followed by a tour of
                   Hortis Loci plant nursery.Full day, self drive visit. NB.This is a
                   Monday 

15th July:        Visits to Chintherst Lodge and Hannah Peschar sculpture
                    garden. By coach

10th August:      Visits to Chettle House and Edmonsham House, Dorset. By 
                    coach

11th September:  Itchen Valley Flower & Produce Festival  

14th September:  Visits to Wudston House and Great Chalfield Manor. By coach
12th October:     A talk given by Sue Stewart Smith: "Gardening for the Mind"                       Hall. 2.30pm

16th November:   A.G.M. followed by talk given by Anne Marie Powell. Hall 2.30
                     pm. 


The committee hopes to be able to deliver the above programme as printed. However, with changing circumstances, we ask for your forbearance should we need to change, cancel or postpone any of the events. Details of all meetings/visits will be sent out to members by email prior to each event. Guests are always welcome at our meetings at a charge of £10 to attend a hall talk. For guests on garden visits, we make a surcharge of £10 on top of the costs of the day.
